Houseboat Package 4 Nights & 5 Days Double Occupancy

Itinerary

Day One :

On arrival at Cochin airport/ railway station you will be received by our representative and we will proceed to houseboat.Check in the house boat @ 11:30 am.The boat will start the cruise after a small brief by our staff about your trip @ 12 noon.The boat will take you through r block and c block (r block and c block are man made paddy fields made from lake during the rule of the King and here cultivation happens below sea level) and will pass through Venattukad, Munattumugham.The boat will park at 05:30 pm.The guest has the option to see the village life after the parking and over night stay at boat house.

Day Two :

The boat cruise starts at 10:00 am after breakfast through the back waters of Alleppey. It gives a delightful experience to the guests and shows the great Kuttanadu,Nedumudi and Chambakkulam which is the rice bowl of Kerala.The history of paddy cultivation in Kuttanad can be traced back to centuries. The cruise covers the great Nehru trophy boat race track Punnmada. The cruise will end at 05.30 pm and over night stay at boat house.

Day Three :

A backwater trip to Kollam (earlier known as Quilon) which is one of the leading trade centres of the ancient world. It is also the starting point of the backwater waterways. The Ashtamudi Kayal, known as the gateway to the backwaters, covers about 30 per cent of Kollam.Sasthamcotta Kayal, the large fresh water lake is 28.5 km from Kollam city.The 8 hours boat ride from Kollam to Alappuzha is the longest cruise in Kerala and is delightful ride with lotuses and water lilies all around. The historic Thangasseri Fort is near Kollam, which is situated 71 km north of Thiruvananathapuram and over night stay at houseboat.

Day Four :

'Village life experience at Kumarakom’ is a half-day tour package, to give the tourist an authentic experience. It is also a fine example of an itinerary linking the community-based tourism products and services, as envisaged by the Responsible Tourism programme. A lot of natives take active part in this package which costs Rs. 1400/-.

For this ride through the canals, guests are taken in a country boat (vallom) operated by women who pole down the canals.This slow ride helps tourists to get a good look at the everyday village life on the banks. They can see people working in the paddy fields, children swimming in the lake, people engaged in various kinds of fishing, women weaving coconut palm fronds and so on.During the ride through the canals, the tourists can experience the fun of fishing using the traditional bow and arrow method. There is great thrill in identifying fish in the moving waters, aiming at them with the pointed arrow and hitting them at the right time. For most, it is the highlight of the journey. Fishing by casting the net may also be tried.And the over night stay at Houseboat.

Day Five :

Boat house starting the boat cruise at 08:00 am and back to the boat jetty for check out at 09:30 am. After the check out proceed to Cochin for a sightseeing . Visit Fort Cochin still keeping alive its ancient Jewish traditions, the Santa Cruz Basilica, Mattancherry Palace, St: Francis Church and beaches with Chinese Fishing Nets. Return to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Guest will be greeted with Welcome Drink,Traditional Kerala or North Indian Lunch,Evening Tea with snacks,Dinner and Breakfast

Menu can be changed: If informed one day before, North Indians dishes like Chilly Chicken, Ginger Chicken, Chilly Fish , Dal Fry, Alu Gobi, Gobi Manchurian etc, can be included in the menu and foreign guests can get food specially made with less spice or without spice etc. Guests can also buy fresh prawn, crab, karimeen or any fresh fish during their cruise from fishermen (fresh catch) and our chef will prepare it for the guests without any additional charge.We are using sunflower oil for cooking.

Boat will be exclusively for you with three crew (oarsman,chef,attendee for you).The boat trip shall be 100 % safe and secure.The boat has all safety measures and the crew members have practical knowledge about the backwaters and so the guests should consider the crew's advise for safe trip.

The rates are quoted in INR, rates are quoted on a Single/Double occupancy basis, rooms subject to availability at the time of booking.We will confirm the booking only after getting the 50 % advance,2% surcharge if payment made through Visa/Master credit card.This tour package is subject to the terms and conditions of Kumarakom Houseboat Holidays.

Cancellation Policy

Within 17-30 days prior to arrival 15% charge on total booking,Within 05-16 days prior to arrival 25% charge on total booking,Within 04 days or less prior to arrival 100% charge on total booking: 100% of the total booking charge will be applicable.Early Departure Policy: 100% of the booked period will be charged.
